Part of the fun of the day was to take pictures of milemarkers and my running partner & me at various points in the day. My family sent me encouragement notes as did a number of people who I don't even know, but saw my posts!
Here's how the Twittering went...
- Lights all ready for tomorrows very early (and dark) start. http://snipurl.com/4hbwh
- ...and we're off http://snipurl.com/4hxsy
- Mile 5
- Bridge http://snipurl.com/4hzqi
- 9 http://snipurl.com/4i0r4
- 14... http://snipurl.com/4i2of
- 15 and going strong! http://snipurl.com/4i37o
- Quick jog around the lake and then the home stretch http://snipurl.com/4i50o
- The smell of eucalyptus trees takes me back to my childhood and gives me energy
- 6.2 to go http://snipurl.com/4i5gi
- 23. And still moving
- 2.2 http://snipurl.com/4i7j2
- Just past 25
- 26.2!!! Thanks to all who followed me!
As you can see, the posts were not terribly exciting, but they entertained me and let my family follow along my run virtually (as opposed to Ron & the girls who followed me physically!)
A great experience. I'm quite sure that if I ran the marathon without the posts or the bathroom breaks, I would have finished a good hour and a half faster, but this one was about the experience...perhaps the next one will be for speed!
